September 2024 – Studying For A Better Future
With 194 students to look after, it’s been a busy start to the school year.
That’s an increase of 50% from last year – a chance for 64 more children to escape the violence in Burma and pursue an education.
Updates at a Glance:
- A warm welcome to our 2 new teachers, who will look after the kindergarten and provide expanded English lessons.
- We are delighted to have opened a class for grade 7 students. This means that we now provide all levels of primary education to better prepare the kids for secondary school.
- Led by parent volunteers, the Healthy Lunch initiative ensures all pupils can enjoy a healthy mid-day meal.
Help with the new classrooms
Great news – the school is expanding. In August, we started construction of a new building. Three classrooms on the top floor will allow each grade level to have their own room. An assembly hall on the ground floor will provide enough space to host assemblies, and a dry place to eat lunch during monsoon.
If you’d like to help, we need the supplies to transform an empty building into flourishing classrooms.
And as always, thank you for your support!
